With the help of funding from Mid Coast Council, and especially the work done by their wonderful recovery officer, we ran our second Facilitator Training in Taree in March this year.
We ran this one a little differently by starting several weeks previously with a 4-hour Intro session for interested parties to get an idea of the type of content we deliver... and our particular facilitation style. As a result of that initial workshop we had 16 people sign up for the full training.
At the training we had a great group of professionals from various social organisations as well as 2 police officers. I have to say that we were a bit nervous teaching them as they already have a grounding in self defence - which is unfortunately very necessary in their line of work - as well as de-escalation and boundary setting... but it was a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas and stories and work with some of the previous issues they have faced at work.
From the feedback we got, everyone took a lot away with them on both a personal and professional level and we were very grateful to have their time, energy and insights.
